Our Mission
It was a long labour, a difficult one, it was a really painful one, but at the end MHM by Squinty came to life.
They say if life gives you lemons make some lemonade, I kind of hate the, almost toxic, positivity of this particular quote, but it explains how this happened, pretty well.
I wanted to get something good out of all the shit life, or better, my brain, has been giving me.
I wanted to help others, to make a difference, to raise awareness, so that in the future none would have to suffer as much as I did, for the ignorance and stigma that still exist when it comes to the mental realm.
I have been diagnosed with bpd at 30, bipolar at 33, and ADHD at 44, I grew up in a time and in a country where talking about going to a psychiatrist was, and sometimes still is a taboo.
I masked, I tried to fit in, I pretended to be different people, to end up fucking up big time for the exhaustion of masking.
That's why MHM by Squinty was born, to make a difference, being proud of who we are, because we are heroes, and we should never be ashamed of who we are, with, and because of, our mental illnesses and neurodivergencies.
We should celebrate our strenght, our beauty, our weirdness, our differences, and throw it all on the world's face.
Being unapologetically real, because, Mental Health Matters, because We Matter.
